Course Overview
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform tasks associated with the normal operations of the Vista software and associated hardware. It also provides the prerequisite knowledge and skills for further operations and training, including Algorithm Development, Application Programming Interface, System Administration, and Maintenance.

Prerequisites
None

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • State the capabilities of the VISTA software and associated hardware.
  • Describe the major components of the VISTA System, including:
    – System Manager
    – Project Manager
    – Modules
    – System Navigator
    – Displays
    – Data Archiving
    – Utilities
  • Identify the different components of the VISTA Graphical User Interface (GUI) associated with the System Navigator.
  • Describe Telemetry as it applies to decommutation.
  • Create, configure, modify, troubleshoot and store a new database using a simulated telemetry stream.
  • Archive decommutated telemetry data and view data from the created files.
  • Create custom displays.
  • Display and interpret real-time telemetry data.
  • Display and interpret archived telemetry data.
  • Configure and display IRIG time parameters and associate time with a database.
  • Export and import configured module database files.
  • Describe the system hardware and software configuration and properties files.
  • Display and interpret the system hardware and software log files.
