Space & Navigation Recognized as
United Space Alliance’s Large Business of the Year
BUDD LAKE, NJ, March 2, 2004 — L-3 Communications Space & Navigation
(L-3 S&N), a division of L-3 Communications Corporation (NYSE:LLL),
announced today that it has received the Large Business of the
Year award from United Space Alliance (USA). This honor is in recognition
of the outstanding performance L-3 S&N has demonstrated on
the Space Shuttle program.
L-3 S&N supports USA’s Space Shuttle operations with
a combination of hardware upgrades and engineering programs in
conjunction with its Integrated Electronics Assembly (IEA) product.
The IEA is the only electrical interface between the orbiter and
the Solid Rocket Boosters’ (SRB) operational flight system,
supporting critical operations such as ignition, thrust vector
control, SRB separation and parachute deployment. L-3 S&N’s
solutions are a continuation of its heritage of producing highly
reliable products for space launch applications.
