The rugged, modular PICT system
supports multiple secure and non-secure voice communications
for both military and industrial applications. In its shipboard
application, a single PICT terminal integrates the user's
voice access to telephones, tactical intercoms, radio communications,
public announcements, and casualty reporting systems.
The PICT interface configuration,
which can be ordered to meet user applications, is compatible
with all current hookups on U.S. Navy ships. it is designed
for installation into console cutouts as well as into location-specific
enclosures for mounting on fiddleboards, bulkheads, pedestals,
etc. A simple user-programmable touch screen provides control
of the interfaces with a natural graphical color interface
The PICT system is applicable
for many shipboard console positions. The system provides
for the use of the headset, handset, push-to-talk foot switch,
embedded speaker and microphone in the front panel for intercom
use. The system also provides connectivity for an externally
powered speaker. Up to 20 single-action keys can be programmed
for frequently called circuits.
PICT handles intercom calls
through one-button or "hands free" access to the
destination terminal. Automatic-answer is provided as "receive
only" for incoming intercom calls. The PICT maintains
separation between interior communication calls and radio
circuits, as well as between the transmit/receive for all
circuits.
The user's programmable configurations
are stored both in the PICT an in an optional, removable,
configuration module. If the user changes stations or replaces
a PICT, the configuration can be restored simply by plugging
in the module. PICT will perform the remote control functionality
for the U.S. Navy's Digital Modular Radio (DMR) |
