Compact
Range
State of the Art Test Facilities.
The
Compact Range facility at Randtron Antenna Systems
is completely equipped to perform RCS tests and antenna radiation
measurements. The facility is operated by a highly trained
staff with extensive experience in designing low RCS antennas
and test bodies for electronic warfare applications. Fully
automated test equipment and custom software provides for
rapid and accurate antenna radiation measurements. A TEMPEST
certified (NSA 65-6) control room adjacent to the anechoic
chamber serves as the control center of the facility. The
Compact Range RCS and Antenna Radiation Measurement Facility
has been operational since October 1987. The heart of the
facility is a March Microwave, dual cylindrical parabolic
reflector system. The surface accuracy, .002 inch over 14
feet, allows the reflectors to perform well from 2 to 100
GHz with a typical -65 dBsm measurement floor. The reflectors
provide a 7' diameter by 10' deep quiet zone, with amplitude
and phase ripple less than 0.8 dB and 8 degree peak-to-peak,
respectively, from 4 to 100 GHz. The chamber is outfitted
with March Microwave feed horns that operate across the frequency
band. The reflector system is installed in a 40' x 28' x 16'
anechoic chamber which is lined with pyramidal absorber. Two
12' x 8' doors allow for installation of large targets. Targets
are positioned in the anechoic chamber with an Randtron
Antenna Systems designed and fabricated Tri-pulley overhead
target mounting system which is capable of lifting and positioning
500 pound targets. |
