L-3 Ocean Systems' K8000 is a high-resolution Advanced Side Looking Sonar (ASLS), which rapidly surveys large ocean areas and detects modern stealth, bottom and moored mines from small craft or helicopter platforms. This next-generation sonar produces photo quality, real-time images with unparalleled sharpness, at high tow speeds and in high sea state conditions. The entire K8000 system, including the ship console, is designed to be quickly installed or removed from craft of opportunity platforms and is packaged in a standard ISO container for easy transportation. The system features high-resolution, long-detection ranges, active motion compensation and high search rates.
