(NYSE: LLL) announced today that the U.S. Government Accountability
Office (GAO) has upheld L-3's protest in connection with the linguist
contract to provide translators and linguists worldwide, including
support to the U.S. military operations in Iraq. Michael T. Strianese,
President and Chief Executive Officer of L-3 Communications, said, "We
are obviously very pleased with the GAO's decision." During the
protest, L-3 has continued to perform under its existing linguist
contract and, in fact, is providing additional resources in support of
the President's troop surge. The Company will provide additional

2006.
