L-3 Awarded Life-Cycle Contractor Support (LCCS) Contract for Army Fixed-Wing Aircraft
NEW YORK, Oct 14, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Systems Field Support (SFS) division was awarded a competitively-bid contract from the U.S. Army to provide life-cycle contractor support (LCCS) for C-12, RC-12 and UC-35 aircraft. The five-year contract, with options, will exceed $440 million and is managed by the Army's Fixed Wing Product Management Office from PEO-Aviation, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

The L-3 SFS operating unit in Madison, Miss., is responsible for total aircraft system maintenance, repair, modification, service, logistical support and management processes for the worldwide fleet of approximately 190 aircraft.
The C-12 and RC-12 turboprop and UC-35 jet aircraft are used by the Army, Army Reserves and the Army National Guard. These aircraft support the movement of essential cargo and personnel to support peacetime and contingency operations including transportation of key command and staff personnel.
L-3 SFS will be supported by a team that includes M1 Support Services, Hawker Beechcraft Services, Sierra Industries, Cessna and Aerospace Products International.
