NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 2, 2009--
L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has named John M.
Hill vice president – human resources. In this position, Mr. Hill will
oversee all human resource functions and initiatives for the company. He
will report to Michael T. Strianese, chairman, president and chief
executive officer.

With more than 27 years of management experience with L-3 and its
heritage companies, Mr. Hill most recently served as the vice president
of human resources at L-3 Communication Systems-West. He began his
career in the human resources organization of the Sperry Corporation and
held positions of increasing responsibility before joining Communication
Systems-West in 1993.
Mr. Hill earned a bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University of
Pennsylvania and received a Master of Business Administration from the
University of Utah. Mr. Hill currently serves as the Chairman of the
State of Utah Central Regional Council for the Department of Workforce
Services, Chair of the Utah Partnership for Education, the early college
high school initiative for Utah. Previously, he chaired
MESA/STEP, a national initiative that encourages women and minorities to
pursue technical fields of study.
Mr. Hill succeeds Kenneth W. Manne who has been named vice president,
organization development, where he will focus on leadership development,
succession planning and talent acquisition.
