L-3 to Exhibit New Technologies at Navy League Sea-Air-Space Exposition
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2008--L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) will exhibit new naval technology at this year's Navy League Sea-Air-Space Exposition. The Power Node Control Center(R) (PNCC) is a revolutionary integrated power system designed to provide seamless power transfer, robust fault management and superior power quality for naval vessels. L-3 will also demonstrate its upgraded naval Damage Control System (DCS) that guarantees immediate situational awareness and provides direct and real-time control of the ship's damage control systems.
Developed by L-3 SPD Electrical Systems (L-3 SPD), the PNCC(R) functions as an integrated power system and simultaneously performs as a transfer switch, frequency converter, circuit breaker, power conditioner, power transformer and motor controller. The integrated PNCC(R) is configured and optimized for open-architecture, offering significant weight and cost savings compared to current power components that must be specified, installed and maintained separately.
L-3 Marine Systems' (L-3 MS) upgraded DCS features an interactive FreeDraw tool for real-time notes with multiple displays using Interactive Incident Board Management. The DCS is an integral part of the L-3 MS Integrated Ship Management System that increases operational efficiency while supporting reduced manning requirements.
