Corrective Action To Be Taken By INSCOM On L-3's Linguist Protest

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2008--L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) has been advised that the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) intends to take corrective action on a protest filed by L-3 in connection with the contract to provide translators and linguists in support of U.S. military operations in Iraq. INSCOM informed the Government Accountability Office (GAO) of its decision on January 15, 2008. L-3 filed its protest with the GAO on December 14, 2007. L-3 will evaluate its options once INSCOM has implemented its corrective action and has made a new award decision.

In another unrelated program action, L-3's existing linguist contract was previously extended from December 9, 2007 to March 8, 2008. There can be no assurances about the outcome of the government's corrective action, or whether L-3's linguist contract will be extended beyond March 8, 2008.
