Join L-3 MariPro, a leading provider of undersea cabled sensor systems for military, government and science applications. Since the early 1960s, MariPro has designed, manufactured and installed highly reliable, long-life underwater acoustic and electromagnetic sensor systems used by the world's navies for submarine training, tracking exercises and surveillance. MariPro also provides cabled seafloor observatories to support the ocean research community. We have recently introduced proprietary through-water communications technology for use by the US Navy.

MariPro has been in the Goleta community for the past 45 years and employs approximately 70 people.

• Seeking undergraduate student majoring in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

This position will introduce the intern to selected implementation and documentation requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) as it pertains to Information Technology.   The IT Intern will also be provided with an introduction to the ISO 9001:2000 Management System and its relationship to Information Technology.

Responsibilities will include assisting in development and implementation of a new software license catalogue and tracking database (with Microsoft Access) and helping to develop an off-site backup storage process for application software media

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science; or equivalent
• Experience with low noise analog design, FPGA design; serial and parallel digital interfaces and optical telemetry; high reliability circuit design, power supply design, and common electronic test equipment
• Windows based computer environment
• Electronic circuit analysis tools
• ISO 9001 knowledge
• Ability to work within a team of self-motivated employees

Responsibilities include: developing, analyzing, testing and documenting analog and/or digital electronics designs for acoustic sensing and communications systems; supporting design reviews, creating test procedures, and supporting hardware procurement, manufacturing and field installation efforts.
