Who can make a request?
While the company's contributions generally are designated in the mission areas described above through an annual planning process, requests from qualifying organizations that fit within these mission areas will be considered.

We have chosen the United Way as our sole funding vehicle for health and human services and, therefore, generally do not accept requests from individual agencies. The United Way provides an effective means of directing funding to the priority needs of the community and L-3/IS makes a substantial gift to the United Way in the communities where we are based each year. Payroll deduction also is available to employees who choose to contribute to the United Way.

Contributions will be considered for nonprofit public charities that promote continuing professional development or enhance the overall standard of living. Specifically excluded are political and religious organizations or causes, or any discriminatory organization or cause.

How to make a request
Requests for contributions must be submitted in writing to the Public Relations & Communications Department. Requests are typically reviewed quarterly.
Requesting agencies must also attach to their request:

• A list of their Board of Directors, including contact information.
• The agency's most current annual budget.
• A copy of their letter from the IRS acknowledging the agency's tax exempt status under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
