Multipurpose Display Indicator (MDI) The MDI is a 5" x 5" AMLCD full colour high-resolution display replacing the F-18A/B's DDI. The MDI is a self-contained display unit containing graphics and video processing, and provides interfacing to the F-18's Mission Computer, HUD, HSD/DMS, and rear-seat MDRI displays.
