Houston Sales Manager (DP & Vessel Controls)

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Develop a sales action plan for Dynamic Positioning and Control Systems’ products for the workboat market in the Gulf of Mexico and neighbouring states.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Plan.
  • Identify market size, target customers & create market opportunities.
  • Deliver sales of the products in accordance with an agreed budget.
  • Interface with customers’ senior personnel within the workboat community and develop close working relationships.
  • Interface with DP&CS Managers to obtain the required support of sales activities.
  • Follow-up DP products’ proposal submissions on a routine basis to closure.

GENERAL

  • Generate opportunities for funded development for new and existing group technology into the commercial market.
  • Liaise with other offices regarding the development of identified hardware and/or software.

OTHER

  • Provide continuous updates to the Marketing and Sales Information Systems & Processes.
  • Travel extensively to visit customers.
  • Attend trade shows as and when required.
  • Convey a professional image of the company at all times.
  • Any other tasks within the competence of the role and the job holder.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent
  • A proven track record selling electronic capital equipment into the marine industry, (automation or related products would be a distinct advantage).

Software Engineer

Engineering position requiring knowledge, troubleshooting and support of advanced control and automation systems.  Work involvement in the areas of Dynamic Positioning (DP) and Vessel Automation, as well as interfacing with customers to produce desired results.  Must be well organized, and have the ability to support multiple projects/ assignments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Software Engineer will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develops real-time software applications using object-oriented technology.
  • Programs in Visual C++ and MFC in a Windows NT/2000/XP environment.
  • Programs in C, C++, and MS-DOS.
  • Analyzes and designs complex software applications.
  • Provides technical direction on complex software system problems.
  • Provides technical expertise in computer systems architecture and software package design in response to systems requirements, financial considerations, reliability and accuracy.
  • Research, develop, and test software systems in combination with hardware product development to determine operation and performance of overall system.
  • Confers with hardware engineers to evaluate interface between hardware and software.
  • Develops required software system documentation.
  • Complies with Dynamic Positioning and Control Systems’ Quality System Procedures, paying particular attention to Software Development and Control.
  • Evaluates new and existing software.
  • Estimates software development efforts accurately.
  • Prepares or directs the preparation of special reports and study programs.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • BSCS/BSEE or equivalent.

SPECIFIC/SPECIAL SKILLS

Experience using Visual C++ and MFC in Windows NT/2000/XP environment required.  Desirable experience includes ActiveX, VME, serial and TCP/IP communications, and control applications

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some Domestic and International travel required.

Field Service Engineer
(San Diego)

Under general supervision and with considerable responsibility for work output, the successful candidate will install & support advanced Vessel Control & Automation systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key tasks include service & installation of equipment at offshore sites, tuning, calibration, and programming. 
  • Updates and modifies equipment as necessary. 
  • Maintains detailed service records. 
  • Instructs customers and workers on the operation and proper use of equipment.
  • Acts as liaison between employer, customer, and regulatory bodies.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

AA degree, technical certificate, diploma or 3 years experience in related field required.  Experience with electrical cable install, termination, instrumentation layout & connections required.   Should be experienced with standard electronic test equipment, computer hardware/software, and network systems.

Guidance, Navigation and Controls (GNC) Engineer

Engineering position requiring knowledge, troubleshooting and support of advanced control and automation systems.  Work involvement in the areas of Dynamic Positioning (DP) and Vessel Automation, as well as interfacing with customers to produce desired results.  Must be well organized, and have the ability to support multiple projects/ assignments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The GNC Engineer will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Engineering activities related to offshore service for development, upgrade and support of L-3 Communication vessel control and automation systems.
  • Use strong analytical skills to develop mathematical models and software applications to dynamically maintain vessel position and heading.  Includes software development (MS Windows, PLC, GUI, C, C++ and Matlab), simulation, testing and trouble-shooting multi-axis, coordinated thruster control and sensor processing algorithms.   Provide technical reports as required.
  • Installation, commissioning and sea trials of vessel control systems (DP and Automation).  Includes control system tuning, configuration and calibration, and programming to support installation and start-up.

Area Sales Manager (DP Vessel Controls)

The Area Manager (DP & Vessel Controls) will report directly to the General Manager.

The Area Sales Manager (DP & Vessel Controls) will be required to be:

  • Responsible for the sales of Dynamic Positioning systems and associated projects in Europe and the Middle East
  • Develop Sales marketing strategy for the DP and associated products
  • Establish a plan to delivery the strategy
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Plan.
  • Identify market size, target customers & create market opportunities
  • Deliver sales of the products.
  • Interface with Projects Department to ensure smooth handover from Sales to Projects.
  • Interface with Proposals & Administration Manager to ensure optimum efficiency of resources for proposal preparation.
  • Follow-up DP products’ proposal submissions on a routine basis.
