L-3 Communications Awarded Cockpit
Displays Contract For F-15k Eagle Aircraft
NEW YORK - March 11, 2003 -- L-3 Communications
(NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Display Systems division has
been awarded a contract from The Boeing Company, Integrated Defense
Systems (IDS) division, to provide cockpit displays for the F-15K
Eagle fighter aircraft. This contract is valued at over $7 million.
Under the terms of the contract, L-3 will design,
qualify, and manufacture high resolution, high brightness, NVG compatible,
4"x4" active matrix Flat Panel Up-Front Control (FPUFC) displays.
The FPUFC controls the functions of the F-15K Communication, Radio
and Inertial Navigation, Identification, and associated equipment,
and will meet the demanding environment of the F-15 Eagle fighter
aircraft. The display design is intended for compatibility with
current F-15E Eagle and F-15 FMS Up-Front Control Display units.
