L-3 COMMUNICATIONS
PRODUCES 150th TACTICAL DISPLAY FOR THE F-14 AIRCRAFT
NEW YORK, NY, June 18, 2001 - L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL)
announced today that its Display Systems division has completed the
production of its 150th Programmable Tactical Information Display
(PTID) for the U.S. Navy's F-14 tactical fighter aircraft. L-3 will
deliver the 150th PTID to the U.S. Navy on June 29, 2001. L-3's display
products are currently on display at the L-3 exhibit at the Paris
Air Show, LeBourget, France, Hall 4, Stand B3.
The PTID units are used to receive, process, and
display tactical information and are currently deployed in the Navy's
F-14A, B, & D variants. The equipment also receives and displays
high-resolution sensor video for viewing and evaluation by the flight
crew in real time. L-3's PTID enables both the tactical display
and sensor video functions to be displayed simultaneously or independently.

for over 22 years to the world's most demanding military programs,"

installed on over 20 different airborne, shipboard and land-based
platforms currently in use by U.S. and international military organizations.
