Space Communications

L-3 Communication Systems - East (CS-E) has a heritage of over 40 years of successful experience in Integrated Space Communications system design and production. From Gemini to Apollo, through Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz and the Space Shuttle, L-3 Communications has provided critical communications equipment that has flown on every manned mission and performed flawlessly. The communications and external video equipment for the International Space Station has been delivered and is being prepared for launch next year.


The Japanese Engineering Test Satellite Number 8, ETS-8, RF subsystem, which transmits and receives navigation, high-accuracy clock and mobile communication signals, is in the preliminary design stage.
