About Area:
Job Responsibility: SUMMARY: Procedure and process oriented with strong technical skills and knowledge in Automated Test Equipment. Provides administrative and technical direction to Test Engineers and Technicians. Leading Manufacturing Test team in process improvement, identify the root cause of failure, and taking preventive measure to improve test yield at system level. Supports proposal activities by providing labor estimates, test plans and detail work instructions for floor execution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Provide administrative and technical direction to Test Engineers and Technicians. Leading mfg. test team to proactively pursue the most cost effective ways to the job. Conduct routine daily staff meeting to address and resolve the immediate need on the floor. Hire and train technicians to adequately test and troubleshoot products in accordance with established procedures. Prepare and implement cross training programs to improve workers’ flexibility. Coordinate with After Market group and sustaining engineers to develop test plans on Spares proposal. Identify electronic/electrical equipment, test boxes and test systems needed to perform and/or support testing functions. Support proposal activity by providing labor estimates, test equipment requirements, test methods and schedules. Works with Engineering in developing the appropriate design for test methodology for new and existing products. Identify and initiate corrective action for product, documentation and procedural problems. Ensure the accuracy of failure reports (FR) generated by mfg test group. Performs other duties as assigned by Management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees in the Production Test Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have a working knowledge of automated test methods and equipments in PXI LabView. Must work well in a high pressure environment and be able to reschedule work loads and effectively utilize the resources as priority changes. Must be able to work well with both inner and outer departmental personnel customer/government representatives. Capable of writing professional, clear, concise procedures and reports. Must be able to create schematics and block diagrams to illustrate a test plans. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BS degree in Electrical Engineering required and 5-7 years relevant experience. Must have knowledge and experience in development of ATE test process/fixtures using PXI Labview. Some management background will be helpful.
