FIRE CONTROL SYSTEMS
Combat Power for the Warfighter
These lightweight full solution fire control
systems (FCS) survive the battlefield environment, weigh
less than three pounds and provide the capability expected
of much larger systems. Each
FCS has a corrected aimpoint matched to ammunition
ballistics, caliber and range to the target. A
sophisticated battery power management system, developed
by Brashear, maximizes engagement times. Two
power direct view optics or a reflex sight is employed
for day operation with a micro-thermal capability utilizing
uncooled technology for night missions.
For the ultimate in weight reduction, the MIWS is mission
configured by the warfighter. This capable system
weighs less than 2 lbs for most missions.
When linked to the digital battle field through a PRC
communication system integrated with a handheld GPS, target
location is provided in grid coordinates.
