PHOENIX, December 4, 2001 - Safety avionics supplier ACSS has moved into a new facility in north Phoenix at 7th Avenue and Loop 101/Pima Freeway. ACSS, an L-3 Communications & Thales Company, was formed about 18 months ago when L-3 purchased the TCAS and Mode S product lines from Honeywell International. The move marks another step toward a complete separation of the high tech developer of aircraft safety equipment from Honeywell.

"We are proud to be a new member of the Deer Valley community," said ACSS president Joe Hoffman. "We look forward to being an active corporate citizen and a good neighbor to our surrounding communities."

Hoffman said ACSS is celebrating completion of the move by inviting sixth grade students from nearby Desert Winds Elementary School to learn a little about ACSS and the global aviation business. In addition, ACSS will hold a paper airplane contest for the students after they take a short tour of the buildings on Thursday afternoon, December 6.

The new facility occupies 90,000 square feet in two buildings, and is home to more than 200 employees. ACSS' complete operation - including engineering, light manufacturing, marketing and administration - are housed at the 7th Avenue location.

Prior to the move, ACSS had been sharing space at Honeywell's Commercial Aviation plant near the Deer Valley Airport as part of the divestiture agreement.
