NEW ORLEANS, October 9, 2000 - L-3 Aviation Communications and Surveillance Systems (ACSS) has selected St. Louis-based Midcoast Aviation as the first dealer in the worldwide distributor network it is developing to meet the sales, service and installation requirements of its customers. This announcement will be made at the 2000 National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) Convention in New Orleans October 10-12, 2000.

"Midcoast was selected to be our first dealer because of their national reputation for excellence," said Larry Clark, ACSS director of business and general aviation marketing. "Their ability to provide full-service aviation maintenance and aircraft modifications, in addition to their bases of operation throughout the United States, makes Midcoast a natural choice to meet the support, service and installation needs of our customers."

Mr. Clark continued, "Midcoast already owns a number of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approvals for the TCAS 2000 system that we are selling into the business aviation marketplace. Their experience level with this product line means they will provide a safe and cost-effective installation solution for customers interested in this product."

Wayne Hundsdorfer, director of corporate aviation sales for Midcoast Aviation, is pleased that L-3 considered Midcoast for the honor of being the first dealer.

"L-3 is offering an exceptional product to the business aviation community and we are excited to be part of sales and support efforts surrounding TCAS 2000," said Hundsdorfer. "We hope that our dealer relationship is rewarding to Midcoast, L-3 and the end customer as well."

Midcoast Aviation is a full-service aircraft maintenance and modification company with operations at St. Louis Downtown-Parks Airport, Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and Little Rock National Airport. The company had over 600,000 square feet of hangar, back shop and office space and more than 700 employees, all dedicated to serving the corporate aircraft operator.
