ORLANDO, Sept. 10, 2002 – ACSS, an L-3 Communications & Thales
Company, is increasing the number of products offered to its global network
of authorized dealers. In addition to ACSS-brand products, such as the
T2CAS? (Terrain and Traffic Collision Avoidance System), the TCAS 2000
traffic alert and collision warning system and Mode S transponders, ACSS
will now offer dealers select products from L-3 Communications and Thales
Avionics, the two parent companies of the ACSS joint venture.
From L-3 Communications Display Systems
ACSS dealers will now be able to offer L-3 Communications Display Systems’
SuperSet family of cockpit display products. The SuperSet 6.4 is a multi-function
display (MFD) that meets a wide range of cockpit traffic, terrain, and
radar display requirements for commercial aviation. High resolution coupled
with outstanding optical performance, provides unsurpassed performance
under extreme sunlight, nighttime, or off-angle viewing to meet the demanding
requirements of today's cockpit environments. The design flexibility of
the SuperSet 6.4 MFD assures avionics customers of future growth via software
upgrades.
From Thales Avionics
ACSS dealers will now be able to offer Thales Avionics’ Integrated
Electronic Standby Indicator (IESI), Jetsat Aero-I satcom, Emergency Locator
Transmitter (ELT), Multi-Port Printer and Extended Quick Access Recorder
(EQAR) to business jet customers all over the world.
Thales Avionics’ Electronic Standby Instrument incorporates
altimeter, airspeed and attitude indication functions in a single line-replaceable
unit (LRU). With this three-in-one instrument, operators will have enhanced
safety and faster reaction time for emergency situations.
Thales Avionics’ lightweight Jetsat Aero-I satcom solution provides
full cabin communications (voice, fax and data) capability via five superior
quality communication channels.
The Emergency Locator Transmitter features pinpoint positioning
for aircraft in distress situations.
The Extended Quick Access Recorder, based on rewritable
optical disk technology, offers greater storage capacity and higher data
integrity and delivers flight data analysis from raw data.
ACSS’s joint distribution network with Thales and
L-3 Communications will provide corporate flight operations with a greater
variety of products.
