Awarded Major
Indirect Fire Support Contract in Support of U.S. Army TACOM
BUDD LAKE, NJ, September 13, 2004 — L-3 Communications Space & Navigation
(L-3 S&N), a division of
L-3 Communications Corporation (NYSE: LLL), successfully achieved
a production decision from the U.S. Army on the Improved Position
and Azimuth Determining System (IPADS). A significant production
contract was issued by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments
Command (TACOM) to support the Army’s needs for high-performance
indirect fire support requirements. IPADS is a free inertial high
accuracy system used for surveying and navigational requirements.
