L-3 COMMUNICATIONS SPACE & NAVIGATION
AWARDED
INDIRECT FIRE SUPPORT PRODUCTION ORDER FOR U.S. MARINE CORPS
BUDD LAKE, NJ, March 22, 2005 — L-3 Communications Space & Navigation
(L-3 S&N), a division of L-3 Communications Corporation, was
awarded a production order under an existing Indefinite Delivery
/ Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract in support of the United
States Marine Corps (USMC) for the Improved Position and Azimuth
Determining System (IPADS). The production contract was issued
by the Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) to support
the USMC’s high-performance indirect fire support requirements.
IPADS is a free inertial high accuracy system used for surveying
and navigational requirements in today’s battlefield.
