ALPHARETTA, GA, August 20, 2003 — L-3 Communications Display Systems (L-3 Display Systems), a division of L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL), announced today that in a ceremony held at its headquarters in Alpharetta, Georgia earlier this month on August 5, it received the distinguished Preferred Supplier Certification Award from The Boeing Company. The award was presented by Roger Besancenez, T-38 program manager and Terry Majerski, supplier development — both of The Boeing Company — to Bob McGill, president of L-3 Display Systems. L-3 Display Systems attained this honorary award and status through its commitment and dedication to continuous business process improvements, on-time delivery, achievements in advance quality systems, customer satisfaction and affordability.

That award was previously presented to L-3 for consistently demonstrating excellence in the delivery of high-quality products and services to The Boeing Company.

“We are very proud of our certification status as a Preferred Supplier and of our selection as Boeing’s Supplier of the Year,” said Bob McGill, president of L-3 Display Systems. “This recognition reinforces our outstanding relationship with The Boeing Company and our commitment to continuous process improvement.”
