L-3 Communications Wins Contract
to Provide Displays for AH-64 Apache Helicopter
Alpharetta, GA, April 27, 1998 - L-3 Display
Systems, a division of L-3 Communications Corporation, has been
awarded a contract from Lockheed Martin Electronics & Missiles to
provide cockpit displays and associated electronics for the AH-64
Apache Helicopter. Total contract is valued at $3.8 million.
Under the contract, L-3 will provide ruggedized,
high-resolution, 5" x 5" active matrix liquid crystal flat panel
displays with a wide dimming range, which permits true sunlight
readability and night vision goggle compatibility. The AH-64 Apache
will utilize the L-3 display for weapons targeting and night vision
system imagery.
Lockheed Martin Electronics & Missiles Inc., is
the system supplier for the US Army's AH-64 Target Acquisition Designation
System/Pilot Night Vision (TADS/PNVS) Program.
With over 20 years of experience in avionics display
solutions, L-3 Display Systems specializes in the design, development
and manufacture of ruggedized display systems for demanding military
environments. L-3's product line includes active matrix liquid crystal
flat panel displays, cathode ray tube displays and display processor
electronics.
