105mm M1040 Canister Cartridge antipersonnel ammunition provides the Stryker Mobile Gun System [MGS] with a new and unique capability to provide rapid, lethal fire against dismounted infantry/insurgents.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The M1040 provides warfighters with a devastating and cost effective cartridge that delivers a spray of lethal tungsten spheres with a shotgun like effect. This round distributes the payload to provide an optimum density throughout its lethal operational range. The M1040 design also reduces collateral damage by eliminating the use of a high-explosive warhead.
L-3 Fuzing & Ordnance Systems was chosen as the U.S. Army’s sole contractor for the production of the 105mm M1040 Canister Ammunition to support the U.S. Army’s Brigade Combat Team Program. |
